Vitamin B1 is an important B vitamin required to support many body functions including energy production, memory and mental function, and liver processes. Excessive intake of alcohol and sugar or refined carbohydrates can lead to Vitamin B1 deficiency.

Some people also find Vitamin B1 helpful to repel biting insects such as mosquitoes. It is recommended to take a B complex supplement when taking single B vitamins to ensure a balanced intake.
